Tsunami Skippers Jump Rope Team
Tsunami Skippers Jump Rope Team was founded in 2006. The goal of founders Stacey Dundas and Shannon Carey is to give kids an alternative sport in Clatsop county. A sport that would help young people learn teamwork, the benefits of exercise, self control, self confidence and respect for others.
This year the Tsunami Skippers Jump Rope Team is celebrating their tenth anniversary! Over the past ten years they have performed at elementary school assembles across Oregon and Washington, high school half time shows, Blazer pre-game shows, marched in parades of all kinds and performed for community organizations.
Tsunami Skippers has competed different competitions for over the years and have competed with grace and composure, a great example of sportsmanship!
This year Tsunami Skippers competed in the USA JR Nationals competition June 2014 in Long Beach California. This was a first for their team which included a day in Disneyland, a 9th place finish in Pairs Double Dutch Freestyle and 4 Bronze medals. In addition they have hosted jump rope camps and workshops and performed at fund-raising events, with he most recent the being the Providence Seaside Hospital Foundation "OUTPACE DIABETES".
